Hamburg-based Parto Group GmbH has completed its pre-seed financing round of 2.5 million euros. The impact fintech start-up is developing a payment solution for companies in the social economy. The solution, which is specially tailored to the needs of care facilities and their residents, minimises the administrative workload of care facilities and helps their residents to achieve greater autonomy and thus a higher quality of life. Payment cards take the place of cash payments to care home residents.
The venture capital companies Heal Capital, Berlin and Motive Ventures, New York, London, Berlin, as well as a number of well-known North German business angels have invested.
The idea for founding Parto was born years ago as part of a collaboration between Diakonie Nord Nord-Ost, Lübeck, and Matthias Damerow, then founding director of Baltic Business Angels Schleswig-Holstein e.V., Kiel. As the foundation progressed, the board member of Baltic Incubate Business Club MV e.V. Sebastian Megow, Rostock, joined as an investor and partner for business development and market exploration.
In September 2023, the company was initially founded under the name Participayed by Sebastian Megow, Matthias Damerow, Jes Hennig (CEO), Christoph Roling (CPO) and Thomas Heuck (CCO). Jes and Christoph have start-up experience from their time at Neobank Ruuky. Thomas previously worked in senior sales and marketing positions for over 20 years. In September 2024, the start-up also won the Gründergeist Award from the Hamburg Junior Chamber of Commerce.
With its holistic approach, Parto promises to reduce process costs for operators of care facilities and retirement homes by up to 75%. Diakonie Nord Nord-Ost is a pilot customer, providing the idea. Volksbank Mittweida eG is the partner for the business and trust accounts. The payment cards are issued by Visa.
